No. The Whitestone Fellowship is entirely free of charge. We are committed to ensuring that access to legal and policy education is not limited by financial constraints. All materials, mentorship, and publishing support are fully covered.
Each Fellow completes a final capstone that advances a legal or policy issue of their choice. While many submit research papers, we welcome a wide range of formats, from video documentaries to legislative proposals. Fellows receive full mentorship and editorial support throughout the process, and selected works may be published in The Whitestone Ledger, our public-facing legal and policy journal.
Fellows are mentored by Whitestone staff with direct experience in global diplomacy, U.S. federal policy, and legal advocacy. The Fellowship also hosts guest lectures and workshops with senior professionals, including U.N. Staff, government officials, civil society leaders, and legal scholars. These sessions are meant to sharpen both technical knowledge and strategic insight.
Graduates join our Alumni Network, with access to internal leadership roles, exclusive opportunities, and awards for outstanding work. Select capstones may be published in The Whitestone Ledger.
Fellows attend three 75-minute virtual sessions per week, each covering a key legal or policy topic. Outside of class, they should expect to spend 3-4 hours weekly on independent work, including research and capstone development.
Fellows are chosen through a rigorous application process that includes submission of written materials via our online form. Some applicants may be invited to participate in an interview, though this is not required for all candidates.
